Payment Terms

Focus Synthesis generally offers 30 days net payment terms, with the exception of first-time purchases from new foreign customers, which must be paid in advance.

Payment can be made by check, credit card (by phone or fax), or by wire transfer. Focus Synthesis accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards. It is recommended that a purchase order be sent, even for orders paid by credit card or advance wire transfer. Focus Synthesis also recommends ordering by fax at (858) 259-0980) or by email at focus_synthesis@focussynthesis.com rather than telephone to avoid errors. Focus Synthesis can receive faxes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at (858) 259-0980.

Payment by Credit Card

Credit card payment via fax or telephone is available using Mastercard, Visa, and American Express cards. Please provide the credit card number, the expiration date, and the CVV. (The CVV is the last 3 digits of the number found on the back of Visa and Mastercards. For American Express cards, it is a 4 digit number on the front of the card.) To ensure accuracy and for the sake of record keeping, we would appreciate receiving a purchase order by email (focus_synthesis@focussynthesis.com) or fax (858-259-0980) when using credit cards. Shipping

Unless otherwise requested by the customer, focus ships by Federal Express overnight service (domestic) or Federal Express International Priority (outside the USA). The charge for shipping and handling for packages weighing less than 1 pound (.45 kg)is typically $60-80 (domestic) or $80-100 (outside the USA). Shipping and handling for high-priced orders (particularly those above $2500) will cost more due to FedEx insurance costs and US customs fees. Please provide an email address: order confirmations will be sent by email only.

To ensure timely shipping and to avoid miscommunication, we require an email address when orders are placed for order confirmation and other communications.

Focus Synthesis is an international chemical supplier. The company has successfully shipped research chemicals to the following 26 countries:

Focus Synthesis generally uses Federal Express International Priority for international shipping (unless our clients asks for a different carrier). We are careful to include all of the required paperwork, and to date, more than 95% of our international shipments have reached our clients within 3-5 business days (including passage through customs).

Sales Policy

Prices

All prices on catalog items are subject to change without notice. We will make every effort to keep prices current in our catalog and website, however, we cannot guarantee this.

Prices on non-catalog custom synthesis and design services will be determined on a case by case basis. For information on prices on specific products or services, please send us the details by email at focus_synthesis@focussynthesis.com. When required, Focus Synthesis will establish an NDA with the customer before exchanging such information. The minimum order size is $75, not including shipping and handling.

Payment Terms and Order Cancellation Policy:

Catalog items (including Special Order items): A credit application must be provided by new clients for 30 day net payment terms. For late payments (more than 35 days past due), a late payment fee of 1% of the order price will be charged.

Custom synthesis (non-catalog): Partial advance payment may be required, depending on the cost of precursors and other factors. The balance will be due 30 days net or upon receipt.

Orders of Special Order compounds may be cancelled within 24 hours after receipt of the purchase order (by fax, phonecall, mail or email). After 24 hours, the cancellation fee will be 50% of the original order cost. After 4 weeks (if synthesis is still in progress), orders cannot be cancelled and must be paid in full.

For orders of molecules that require synthesis (including Special Order molecules, and bulk synthesis of In-Stock Items), if the synthesis is unsuccessful (purity below target by >1% and/or late by > 1 week) then the order may be cancelled by Focus Synthesis. In that case, a new order may be negotiated between Focus Synthesis and the customer at that time if both parties desire this.

Once an item has been received by the customer, it cannot be returned for a refund if it is the correct structure and meets the criteria listed on the website. If a problem has arisen with the order (damage or discrepencies), then Focus Synthesis will resolve the issue through another shipment and/or refund of the cost.

Availability and Lead Time

Orders for In Stock items will be filled within 1 to 2 business days of receipt of purchase order or advance payment. Usually, purchase orders received before 12:00 noon PST will be filled the same day.

Special Order items are not in stock, but can be provided with a lead time of 1 to 12 weeks. For small quantities (20 grams or less), many Special Order items will be available in 1-8 weeks through in-house preparation in the Focus Synthesis laboratory.

Taxes, fees and duties

California State sales tax applies only when customers have operations in the state of California.

For customers outside the United States: foreign taxes (such as VAT), duties and fees associated with shipping will be charged directly to the customer through Federal Express.

Restrictions

Focus Synthesis does not sell to individuals and does not allow face-to-face (storefront) sales. Customers must purchase through a business, college, university, or research institution. Focus Synthesis reserves the right to refuse sale to any individual or institution for reason at any time. Focus Synthesis products are intended for non-human scientific research purposes only and are not for use in human beings.
